MOCHA ‘GET UP AND GO’ SHAKE

This is a proper wake-up shake to kick-start your morning and get you powered up for the day. The oats and banana will keep you going, and the shake has a welcome caffeine kick from the espresso. The addition of cocoa makes it feel a bit more special than your regular smoothie.

INGREDIENTS

SERVES: 1

1 banana, peeled and frozen in a ziplock bag

2 tbsp good-quality cocoa powder

200ml whole milk (or any milk of your choice)

20g porridge oats

30ml shot of espresso or 1 tsp instant coffee granules

3–4 ice cubes

METHOD

1: Put all the ingredients into a jug blender and blend until completely smooth.

2: Pour into a large glass or portable drinks container and enjoy!
