FULL TIME MEALS

FULL TIME MEALS

Marcus Rashford and I are proud and excited to announce the launch of our ‘Full Time’ campaign, supported by Facebook and Instagram.

Marcus has been doing a phenomenal job in shining a bright light on the nation’s child poverty issue and continues to fight for systematic change and Government support. His formation of the Child Food Poverty Taskforce has brought together the biggest players in the British food industry, to stand united in finding a long-term sustainable framework to combat child food poverty across the UK.

This is a cause that is close to my heart.  Whilst Marcus are from different generations, we share a lot of similarities in our journey to success. I also grew up in a single parent household on a council estate, my mum worked 2 jobs and, although I never went without food, times were difficult, and money was tight.

It’s heart breaking to think that 4.2 million children in the UK are living in poverty, no child should go to bed hungry but today, far too many do. We live in the third largest economy in the world – it’s time to call full time on child food poverty.

To drive change at both a national and grassroots level, together, Marcus and I have set up the Full Time campaign to call ‘Full Time’ on child food poverty – supporting the nationwide initiative #EndChildFoodPoverty. We want to help give children and families the skills and confidence to cook good, proper food in their own kitchens, using the equipment available to them. Encouraging them to be creative, have fun and spend valuable time together cooking and eating.

I have created 52, pocket friendly and seriously tasty recipes that the whole family can cook – dishes to fill hungry tummies.  These recipes are simple and easy to follow with emphasis on limited equipment and inclusion of store cupboard goods with a longer shelf life. Every Sunday morning, we will launch a new cook-along video on our Instagram page. Follow @FullTimeMeals to access all cook-along videos featuring myself, Marcus and famous friends

We couldn’t have pulled all this together without the help and support of the entire End Child Food Poverty taskforce who have got stuck in with the project and offered all the resources to make this possible.

Now it’s over to you – want to get cooking with us? You won’t need a load of ingredients, equipment, or skill. Just head to your local supermarket or corner shop grab the ingredients and cook up some mega tasty meals!
