CHOCOLATE AND ORANGE SAUCE

CHOCOLATE AND ORANGE SAUCE

This chocolate and orange sauce is from my eggy bread breakfast recipe, but it's also great with most puddings. The magical pairing of chocolate and orange - you don't need a lot as the double cream makes this quite rich but so moreish! I suggest leaving the sauce to cool before trying, but this hasn't always been achieved in my house.

INGREDIENTS

SERVES: 4

120ml double cream

80ml milk

50g caster sugar

225g 70% dark chocolate, broken into small pieces

1 orange

METHOD

1: Put the double cream and milk in a saucepan over a high heat and bring to the boil.

2: Add the sugar and stir until it has dissolved.

3: Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the chocolate, stirring until it has melted.

4: Grate the zest from the orange into the sauce, then pour the sauce into a pot and leave to cool a little.
